Hungary (Eyewitness Travel Guides) Oct 2007Up to date (Oct 2007) and fills in a real gap on Hungary. Lots on Budapest, of course, but plenty on the rest of the country. 336 pages in all. |

Budapest (Eyewitness Travel Guides) Jan 2007There's not a lot available on Hungary, and most of it concentrates on Budapest. This Eyewitness guide is 272 pages and was revised last year. On the other hand, if you're only there for a couple of days, this may be a weight luxury. |

Lonely Planet Eastern Europe (Eastern Europe, 9th Ed Feb 2007)This is massive, 998 pages. I used an earlier edition when I toured the Eastern capitals. It covers Albania, Belarus, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Moscow & St Petersburg, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine and Yugoslavia. Basically aimed at the backpacker, I still found it useful as a overall information back-up in just a single volume. |
