Paris Classical Concerts in Heavenly Settings:
Paris is a city that’s rich in beautiful and historical churches and cathedrals, many of which date back to medieval times. From the small Romanesque churches to the great Gothic cathedrals, many of these Paris churches are on the popular tourist trails.
Apart from their exquisite architecture, many of these churches possess very good acoustics, which make them ideal venues for organ recitals or classical music performances, something that many tourists probably aren’t aware of.
The following churches are venues for regular Paris classical concerts. You can book tickets online for 2024 and 2025 performances.

Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris Notre-Dame Cathedral has witnessed a lot of French history including the coronation of Henry VI in 1422 and Napoleon Bonaparte in 1804. This majestic Gothic Cathedral is famous for its organ recitals and sacred music concerts performed by world renowned choirs and musicians. Two performances are scheduled for Dec. 17 & 18, and not surprisingly both are fully booked. |

La Madeleine – Interior Unlike the many Romanesque and Gothic churches, La Madeleine is more like a Greek temple, with no bell tower or cross on the outside. When La Madeleine was built, it was intended as a temple to honour the glory of Napoleon’s army. Eglise Saint-Germain-des-Prés This church was named after Germain, Bishop of Paris in the 6th century and one of the church’s administrators.The Romanesque tower and nave were rebuilt in the 9th century. Eglise de l’Oratoire du Louvre Built in 1621, this church became the royal chapel of the Palais du Louvre under the reign of Louis XIII. When Napoleon conquered Paris, he placed the Eglise de l’Oratoire du Louvre at the disposal of the Protestant Church. Today this magnificent church belongs to the City of Paris. Eglise Saint Ephrem This Corinthian style Latin Quarter church was constructed in 1733. It was used by a variety of different faiths until the late 19th Century, when it became a centre for Catholic social movements. Eglise St Roch Situated in the 1st arrondissement, Eglise St Roch dates back to the days of young King Louis XIV in 1653. Its design is traditional medieval and its interior is not as ornate as other Paris churches, but St. Roch has artwork that are quite rare. Visitors can see paintings by J.B.
