An Evening with the Vienna Philharmonic – Free of Charge
Visitors to Vienna in early June 2010 will be able to enjoy an evening of the best classical music by the Vienna Philharmonic – free of charge.
Conducted by Franz Welser-Möst, the Vienna Philharmonic will be performing its traditional open air musical master class at the Summer Night’s Concert in the Schönbrunn Schlosspark once again this year. However, in a departure from traditions elsewhere, admission is free as the famous ensemble puts on a special treat for locals and visitors alike. Last year almost 100,000 visitors took up the invitation to attend this special event.
The concert is scheduled to start at 20:30 and more details of the program’s theme will be announced in March 2010.
So if you’re are planning a trip to Vienna in early June and an evening of great and free classical music sounds good to you , don’t forget to mark this event in your calendar.
