Seeing Pink in Rhineland-Palatinate – Germany

When spring comes around, the people of the Rhineland-Palatinate region have something lovely to look forward to. With the onset of spring comes the almond blossom season and the entire region is covered in a canvas of magnificent pink. The almond blossoms usually arrive by early March, marking the end of the cold winter months.

This year, throughout the month of March, the pretty wine-growing villages along the German Wine Route are celebrating nature’s magnificent show by lighting up the castles and palaces along the edge of the Haardt region with pink illuminations as darkness falls.
