Home / Belgium / Waterloo 35
The Battle of Waterloo is one of the more famous battles in history. It was at this battle that Napoleon Bonaparte was finally defeated in 1815. This brought an end to his ambition to make France a European empire and it also put an end to his brilliant military career.
Our visit here gave us a quick refresher course on the key moments in this raging battle. We also enjoyed climbing the 226 steps up the Lion Mound for a panoramic view of where the battle took place.
